What is a Tax Identification Number (TIN) in the UK?

The Tax Identification Number Uk is the UK’s equivalent of a Tax Identification Number (TIN). HMRC gives it to people and businesses registering for self assessment or other tax services as a 10 digit number. The UK officially doesn’t use the term of a TIN, but the UTR (another tax identification) does have the same function. It is required when filing tax returns, dealing with tax matters or identifying oneself to HMRC for what ever personal or corporate tax affairs.
